God may be drawing you to a new life of faith and love in Christ. We hope to be part of that great adventure in your life. Please visit!
We are located in the Patterson Park neighborhood of south Dayton, and close to Oakwood & Kettering. Shroyer Road is easily accessible between Wilmington Avenue & Patterson Road, and via the GDRTA #12 Bus Line. A parking lot is behind the church off of Krebs Avenue, and ample street parking is available. For directions call us, or check out our Google Map™ page.
We believe there is a special calling and gift to being a small congregation in a residential neighborhood. Kids are able to not only be nurtured with those of their own age but also to be around children, youth, and adults of all ages and from many different cultures. This helps prepare people to be "real world Christians."

MFH, is an important part of the SRBC ministry to the community. It provides a loving, stimulating, and safe environment for children 18 months to 12 years. If you are interested in quality, affordable, Christian child care please call Nicole McKenna, 297-0477, for more information or to schedule a tour. Check out our MFH Ministry web page for more infomation.

The SRBC family is a multi-cultural and inter-generational congregation where respect, warmth, moral integrity, and biblical wisdom are highly valued. We are seeking to become spiritually mature and emotionally healthy through the grace and truth of God. We work hard to develop relational skills which help form loving relationships with God, with others, and with ourselves. We believe the Good News of Jesus is the key to salvation for eternity, and the key to living meaningful lives of love and service in our communities. Please check out our Mission Statement to further understand our commitment.
We believe the style of worship is less important than the heart of worship. Therefore, we embrace a mixture of contemporary praise songs and traditional hymns. Times of prayer are personal and focused on the power of the Holy Spirit. The pastor's preaching and teaching are Biblically based and practical. There is a children's story during the worship service and young children may attend a junior church service. Nursery service is also available.
Small groups meet in homes at the participants' convenience to study the Bible, specific topics, and to build supportive friendships. There is also small group Christian Life Education at the church for all ages on Sunday mornings at 9:30. The challenge to develop a biblical ethic toward all of life is embraced as the key to great living.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “The hope of a secure and viable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood.” Followers of Jesus become dynamic catalysts for change in their homes, schools, jobs, communities and nation. It is our goal to help individuals become mature citizens of the kingdom of God on earth, who strive to fulfill this mandate, “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
Local community care work to people experiencing hard times is also accomplished through Dayton Christian Center and The Debt of Love. A small group of women make bandages and blankets for mission hospitals throughout the world, and the Women’s Missions group sponsors many local, national, and international mission works. We also support missionaries in Thailand, Japan, and other countries through the American Baptist Churches USA.
SRBC provides opportunity to be challenged to grow in new strategies for outreach and caring through mission trips. The youth and adults have participated in short term mission trips to Appalachia and Chicago. Youth and adults are planning another trip for the Summer of 2008.
Pastor Ken Damon is available to the congregation for Biblical counsel, prayer support, and a sympathetic ear. He provides guidance for spiritual growth and developing emotionally mature relationship skills. The pastor has a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters of Divinity. His experience includes twenty-five years of marriage, and raising three children. He is available for personal care in times of crisis and celebration: hospital care, marriage preparation, weddings, and funerals.
